Getting there
About this meeting
Carey Baptist Church on Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, hosts an Al-Anon Family Groups meeting every Friday at 8pm. Al-Anon is for people affected by someone else's drinking, such as partners, parents, adult children and friends, and not for the person who drinks. As an open meeting, you can attend without contacting anyone in advance, and there is no need for the person whose drinking concerns you to come along, or to know about it. The meeting lasts an hour and a half, is free to attend, and there is no booking system. It runs weekly on Friday evenings.
Common questions
Who is this meeting for?
Al-Anon Family Groups is for people whose own lives have been affected by someone else's drinking, partners, parents, adult children, brothers, sisters and friends, rather than for the person who drinks.
Do I need to bring the person whose drinking has affected me?
No. The meeting is for you, in your own right. Many people attend on their own and the relative or friend who drinks never needs to come along, or even know you are going.
Does it cost anything, and do I need to book?
It is free to attend and there is no need to book or register. The meeting is held weekly on Fridays at 8pm and lasts an hour and a half; just arrive for the start.
