The Galway Wednesday Group of Overeaters Anonymous meets each Wednesday evening at 19:30 in the Galway Rowing Club, on the Waterside at Wood Quay. OA brings together people who share a desire to stop eating compulsively, using the twelve steps as a framework for recovery. This is an open meeting, so as well as those looking for support for themselves, family members, friends and anyone curious about the fellowship are welcome to come along. The group runs in English and forms part of the Spirit of Hope Intergroup. Meetings tend to follow a familiar shape: shared readings, personal experience and time to listen. There is no pressure to speak, and newcomers are always welcome to simply sit in and see how it feels.
