Getting there
About this meeting
Every Monday at 7pm, Al-Anon Family Groups meets at Museum Street Methodist Church Hall on Black Horse Lane in Ipswich, Suffolk. The fellowship exists for people whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking, partners, parents, adult children and friends, rather than for the person doing the drinking. It is an open meeting, so anyone in that situation is welcome to come along without notice, and there is no need to bring the person whose drinking has affected you, or for them to know you are attending. The meeting lasts an hour and a half, is free of charge, and there is nothing to book beforehand. It takes place weekly, so it is there again the following Monday if this week does not suit.
Common questions
Who is this meeting for?
Al-Anon Family Groups is for people whose own lives have been affected by someone else's drinking, partners, parents, adult children, brothers, sisters and friends, rather than for the person who drinks.
Do I need to bring the person whose drinking has affected me?
No. The meeting is for you, in your own right. Many people attend on their own and the relative or friend who drinks never needs to come along, or even know you are going.
Does it cost anything, and do I need to book?
It is free to attend and there is no need to book or register. The meeting is held weekly on Mondays at 7pm and lasts an hour and a half; just arrive for the start.
