The Just For Today group meets every Monday evening at The Quaker House on Fonnereau Road in central Ipswich, running from 7.30pm for around ninety minutes. This is a Narcotics Anonymous meeting for anyone with a desire to stop using drugs. The format changes week to week, so you might find a share meeting where members speak openly, a Basic Text study, a look at the Just For Today book, or a speaker telling their story. That variety keeps things fresh and gives newcomers plenty of ways to connect. You don't need to say anything on your first visit — you're welcome to sit, listen and get a feel for how NA works. Turn up a few minutes early if you can.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is a closed NA meeting, which means it's for people who have a desire to stop using drugs. If that's you, you're welcome. Closed doesn't mean the doors are shut — it simply means the room is kept for members and newcomers who share that desire, so people can speak freely.
Does it cost anything or do I need to book?
No. NA meetings are free and there's no booking. Just turn up to The Quaker House on a Monday evening. A basket is passed round for voluntary contributions to cover room hire, but you never have to give anything, especially on your first visit.
What happens during the meeting?
The format varies each week — it could be a share meeting, a reading and discussion from the Basic Text or Just For Today book, or a speaker. Whatever the format, you're free to listen without joining in until you feel ready.
