Blackburn

The Blackburn Friday group meets at 7pm at the Young People's Resource Centre on Simmons Street, part of the Barbara Castle Way Health Centre complex near the town centre. It is a closed Alcoholics Anonymous meeting — for anyone with a desire to stop drinking, or anyone who thinks they might need to — and it runs for an hour and a quarter. The centre is wheelchair accessible. A 7pm Friday meeting is well placed: early enough to anchor the evening before it goes anywhere it should not, short enough to leave the night intact. It rounds out a Blackburn AA week that also covers Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.
