Blackburn Fenix (Polish Speaking)

Fenix is Blackburn's Polish-speaking Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, held every Wednesday at 6.30pm at the Phoenix Hub on Heaton Street — the entrance is from Clayton Street, within the Salvation Army Hostel grounds. The meeting is conducted in Polish and runs for an hour and a half as an open meeting, so family and friends are welcome alongside those seeking sobriety. The name — phoenix in Polish, matching its venue — is apt: rising again is the whole business of the room. For Polish speakers across East Lancashire, it is the local-language option without travelling to Preston's two Polish meetings.
