Taunton Newcomers

The Taunton Newcomers meeting is held at the Albemarle Centre on Albemarle Road every Wednesday evening, starting at 7.30pm and running for around ninety minutes. As its name suggests, it is an open meeting aimed particularly at those new to AA, alongside visitors, family members and established members happy to welcome them. The Albemarle Centre offers wheelchair access, and a chit system operates at this meeting, giving newcomers a straightforward way to mark early milestones in their recovery. Sessions tend to focus on the basics of the fellowship and the early stages of recognising and acting on a desire to stop drinking, making it a practical starting point for anyone attending their first meeting in Taunton.
