About this meeting
Taunton's Monday Al-Anon meeting is held online at 7.15pm, UK and Ireland time, and lasts about an hour and a half. Al-Anon Family Groups welcomes anyone touched by someone else's drinking, regardless of whether that person is still drinking, in recovery, or no longer around. The group shares experience of coping with another person's drinking, working with Al-Anon's literature and the twelve steps at each member's own pace. It is an open meeting, so anyone affected by someone else's drinking can join, as well as anyone wanting to understand more or support a friend or relative. There's no need to have attended Al-Anon before, and newcomers are never expected to speak straight away.
Common questions
Do I need to bring the person whose drinking is a concern?
You don't need to. This is a meeting for the people affected, not the person drinking, and most attend without them.
What's the cost, and how do I get involved?
No charge and no booking required. Al-Anon Family Groups' own meeting page has the details you need to join.
Is a camera needed to take part?
No. Many newcomers prefer to listen for a while before switching it on, and that's absolutely fine.
