Tamworth

Tamworth's Friday night AA meeting starts at 8pm at St John's RC Church on St John's Street and runs for a full hour and a half. It is a closed meeting: in Alcoholics Anonymous terms, that means it is set aside for people who have a desire to stop drinking, or who are wondering whether they do. It certainly does not mean newcomers are excluded, and first-timers are welcome to walk in unannounced. Family members or professionals wanting to observe would be better served by an open meeting elsewhere. The church is wheelchair accessible. There is no cost, no register and no booking; people simply arrive a few minutes before eight and find a seat, and listening without sharing is completely fine.
