It Works - It Really Does takes its name from a line often heard around Alcoholics Anonymous, and meets on Friday evenings at 7pm at York Street Community Centre, York Street, Stockport. The meeting runs for an hour and a half, wrapping up at 8.30pm, and offers a way to start the weekend steadied rather than tempted. It is a closed meeting, which means it is for people who have a desire to stop drinking, or who have begun to question their drinking; anyone in that position can attend without arrangement, and first-timers are welcome to just listen. The community centre is wheelchair accessible, and as with every AA meeting there is no charge.
Can I attend if I'm not certain I want to stop drinking?
