For anyone in Staines whose life has been touched by a relative's or friend's drinking, Al-Anon Family Groups meets every Thursday at 7.30pm at Staines Baptist Fellowship Hall on Hale Street, off Wraysbury Road. It brings together people who share the experience of loving or living alongside someone who drinks, or once did, offering mutual support that belongs to them, not to the drinker, in complete confidence. It runs as an open meeting, so newcomers, professionals and anyone with an interest are all free to attend, with no requirement to speak or share if they would rather just listen. It lasts around an hour and a half. Nothing needs to be arranged beforehand, and new faces can just turn up on the day without any prior contact.
