Shrewsbury Thursday

St Winefride's Convent on College Hill in Shrewsbury hosts an Al-Anon Family Groups meeting every Thursday at 7.30pm. Al-Anon is a fellowship for people whose lives are or have been affected by someone else's drinking, whether that person is a partner, parent, adult child or friend, and it makes no difference whether they are still drinking. The meeting is open, so anyone in that position can walk in without having been before, and there is no need to bring the person whose drinking affected you along with you. Over an hour and a half, members share their own experience of coping and recovering. Attendance is free, informal, and there is no booking process to go through beforehand.
