About this meeting

Every Tuesday at 6pm, Al-Anon Family Groups meets at St Michael at the North Gate Church, Cornmarket Street in Oxford. This is a fellowship for people whose lives have been touched by someone else's drinking, so you come along for yourself, whether or not the person concerned ever attends anything at all. This open meeting welcomes anyone, including people who are only just starting to wonder whether Al-Anon could help them. The meeting runs for about an hour, finishing at around 7pm, and there is no need to let anyone know in advance that you are coming.

Common questions

Does the person I am worried about need to come too?

No, they do not. Al-Anon is a fellowship for the people around someone whose drinking has affected them, not for the drinker, so you can attend entirely on your own behalf.

Is there a sign-up process before my first visit?

No sign-up is needed. The meeting is free to attend and you do not need to contact the group before coming along.

Is the meeting held every week?

Yes, this group meets every Tuesday at 6pm. There is no need to check in advance, as it runs weekly without exception.
