The Mind The Steps group meets every Wednesday evening at the Muirfield Centre on South Muirhead Road in Seafar, Cumbernauld, just outside Glasgow. Starting at 7.30pm and running for an hour and a half, this is a speaker meeting, so most weeks a member shares their experience of recovery through Narcotics Anonymous before the discussion opens out to the room. It's an open meeting, which means anyone is welcome to come along, whether you're thinking about your own recovery or you want to understand what NA is about. The venue is wheelchair accessible. If you're new, there's no need to say anything until you're ready. Turning up and listening is enough for a first visit.
Who can come to this meeting?
This is an open meeting, so everyone is welcome, including family, friends and professionals as well as anyone with a desire to stop using drugs. You don't need to have attended NA before, and you can simply sit and listen if you prefer.
Do I need to book or pay?
No. Narcotics Anonymous meetings are free and there's no booking. Just turn up at the Muirfield Centre for 7.30pm on Wednesday. A voluntary collection covers costs like room hire, but you never have to contribute.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the Muirfield Centre is wheelchair accessible. Hearing loop provision hasn't been confirmed, so if you have specific access needs it's worth reaching out ahead of your visit.
