About this meeting

Lewisham's Al-Anon group meets online every Tuesday at midday, UK and Ireland time, for about an hour and a half — a useful lunchtime option for anyone who cannot manage an evening slot. Al-Anon Family Groups is for anyone whose life is or has been affected by someone else's drinking, including partners, parents, adult children and friends. The group shares experience of coping with another person's drinking, using Al-Anon's literature and the twelve steps as a guide. It is an open meeting, so anyone affected is welcome, along with anyone wanting to learn more about the fellowship or support somebody going through it. There's no need for previous experience, and newcomers can simply listen for as long as they wish.

Common questions

Does the person whose drinking is affecting me need to be there?

No, not at all. The meeting is for you — plenty of people come by themselves and the person they're worried about never attends.

Is there a cost, and how do I access the meeting?

There's no cost and no need to book in advance. You'll find the joining details on Al-Anon Family Groups' own meeting page.

Do I need my camera on during the meeting?

Not unless you want to. It's common for newcomers to join with their camera off and simply listen at first.
