Leicester Newcomers

Leicester Newcomers gathers each Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church on Bishop Street, using the side entrance, for an hour and a half. As the name suggests, it is geared towards people new to Alcoholics Anonymous, though the open format means anyone is welcome, including friends or family wanting to understand the programme better. A chit system operates here, so if you need an attendance slip signed for court, probation or a treatment provider, someone at the meeting can do this for you. The Methodist Church is wheelchair accessible, and the midweek evening slot gives newcomers a regular point of contact early in the week rather than waiting until the weekend.
