Getting there
About this meeting
Inverkeithing is an Al-Anon Family Groups meeting held online every Wednesday at 7pm, UK and Ireland time, running for about an hour. Al-Anon Family Groups is for anyone whose life is or has been affected by someone else's drinking — partners, parents, adult children and friends alike. Members share what has helped them cope, using the fellowship's own literature and the twelve steps as a framework rather than a fixed script. It is an open meeting, so anyone touched by another person's drinking is welcome, along with anyone wanting to understand more or support someone else. No previous experience of Al-Anon is needed, and there is no obligation to speak; plenty of people listen for several meetings before joining in.
Common questions
Do I have to bring the person whose drinking is affecting me?
No. Al-Anon is for you, in your own right. Many members attend on their own and never alongside the person whose drinking concerns them.
Is there anything to pay, and how do I join?
It's free to attend and there's nothing to book. Joining details are on Al-Anon Family Groups' own meeting page.
Do I need to have my camera on?
There's no requirement either way. Many newcomers prefer to listen for a while with their camera off before joining in.

Going to your first meeting?
Walking into a room for the first time is the hardest step. Foundations, our plain-language introduction to recovery, was written for exactly this moment — what to expect, what the Steps mean, and how to begin.
