About this meeting

Hove ACA & DF meets every Tuesday at 7.30pm in St John's Room on Church Road, Hove. Adult Children of Alcoholics exists for adults shaped by growing up with a parent's drinking or with other family dysfunction, with recovery understood as healing from that early experience rather than as giving up a habit. Because the meeting is open, friends, partners and professionals are just as welcome as those who identify with growing up in that kind of home. The 'DF' in the name stands for Dysfunctional Families, reflecting that the group welcomes people affected by wider family dysfunction as well as by a parent's drinking. Attendance is free and there is no need to book a place beforehand - anyone interested can simply come along on the night.

Walking into a room for the first time is the hardest step. Foundations, our plain-language introduction to recovery, was written for exactly this moment — what to expect, what the Steps mean, and how to begin.
