About this meeting

Gam-Anon Sligo meets every Sunday at 7pm at the Avalon Centre. It's a fellowship for the partners, parents, adult children and friends of people affected by someone else's gambling, offering a regular space to talk about how it has shaped their own life. The meeting is open to anyone in that position, and there is no need to have any link to Gamblers Anonymous itself or to bring the person who gambles along. At two hours, the Sunday evening session runs longer than most Gam-Anon meetings, giving members plenty of time to share in depth. Newcomers are welcome to come along without any introduction, and can simply listen if they would rather not speak on their first visit.

Common questions

Do I have to bring the person whose gambling affects me?

No. Gam-Anon Sligo is for you in your own right, and many people attend entirely on their own.

How long does the meeting run?

It lasts around two hours, longer than most Gam-Anon meetings, giving members extra time to talk.

Is it free to attend?

Yes, there's no charge and no booking needed, just come to the Avalon Centre for 7pm on Sunday.
