The Fenland Friday Group brings Overeaters Anonymous together each week in St. Neots, meeting at the Tesco Extra on Barford Road. Members gather at 6pm every Friday to share experience, strength and hope around recovery from compulsive eating. The format varies week to week, so you might find a shared reading, personal shares or a topic discussion depending on who's in the chair. OA follows the same twelve-step approach as other fellowships, with no weigh-ins, dues or diet plans. This is a members' meeting, held for anyone with a desire to stop eating compulsively. If you're new and unsure whether it's for you, Debbie is the local contact and happy to answer questions before you come along. Meetings are conducted in English.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is a closed meeting, which means it's for people who have a desire to stop eating compulsively, rather than open to family, friends or observers. If that's you, you're welcome. If you're unsure whether OA fits your situation, reach out to Debbie, the local contact, beforehand.
Is there any cost or do I need to book?
No. There's no charge to attend and no need to book ahead — just turn up on Friday for the 6pm start. OA is self-supporting through members' own voluntary contributions, so a small donation is welcome but never required, and there's nothing to pay as a newcomer.
What happens at an OA meeting?
The format here varies from week to week, so expect anything from a reading and discussion to members sharing their own experience. There are no weigh-ins, food plans or diets — OA is a twelve-step fellowship focused on recovery from compulsive eating through shared support.
