About this meeting

On Tuesday evenings, Dun Laoghaire Central holds a closed Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at 8.30pm in Park House on Library Road, one of the busiest venues for AA in the area. This is a members-only session in the AA sense, meaning it is set aside for people who share a desire to stop drinking, and no other qualification is needed to walk in. There is nothing to pay, nothing to sign up for, and no requirement to speak if you would rather listen. The group is well established in Dun Laoghaire and forms part of a near-daily rota at this same venue, giving people options through the week. Wheelchair access at Park House has not been confirmed, so anyone needing step-free entry should check ahead. Both newcomers and those with years of sobriety attend regularly.

Common questions

Can a newcomer just walk into the Tuesday meeting?

Yes. It is a closed meeting, which under AA's structure simply means it is for people with a desire to stop drinking, newcomers included.

Is there a charge, and do I need to sign up beforehand?

There is no charge and no sign-up process. You can arrive at Park House shortly before 8.30pm on Tuesday and take a seat.

Is the Library Road Community Centre wheelchair accessible?

We do not have confirmation of wheelchair access for this venue, so it would be worth asking the group directly if this affects you.
