Experience, Strength and Hope is Downham Market's Saturday meeting, starting at 7.30pm in Room 3 of the Methodist Church on Paradise Road and running for an hour and a quarter. Use the side door to get in, as noted in the room directions. The meeting takes its name from what AA members share: honest accounts of what drinking was like, what changed, and how life is now. It is open to everyone, whether you have a desire to stop drinking or are supporting somebody who does. The church has wheelchair access. As always with AA, it is free, unbooked and anonymous. A Wednesday evening meeting, Emotional Sobriety, uses the same room if one meeting a week is not enough.
Who can come along on a Saturday?
Everyone. It is an open meeting, so family, friends and professionals are welcome alongside people who have a desire to stop drinking.
Where is the entrance?
The meeting is in Room 3 of Downham Market Methodist Church on Paradise Road; use the side door rather than the main entrance. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
Is there a charge or any booking?
No. AA meetings are free and there is nothing to book; simply arrive shortly before 7.30pm on a Saturday.
