Darlington Multi-Mtg: General Share

Sunday afternoons at 2.30pm bring an open General Share meeting to the Community Centre on Willow Road in Darlington, lasting one hour. Open means exactly that: anyone is welcome, including family members, friends and professionals, as well as anyone wondering whether they have a desire to stop drinking. This meeting also operates a chit system, so if you need signed evidence of attendance for a court order, probation or a treatment programme, the secretary can sign your slip. The format is a general share, with members speaking in turn about their own experience; you can simply listen if you prefer. The building is wheelchair accessible, and the afternoon time makes it a practical choice for people who cannot get out in the evenings.
