About this meeting

The Coleraine and Ballymoney group holds its Al-Anon Family Groups meeting online every Monday at 8pm, UK and Ireland time, for about an hour and a half. Al-Anon exists for people affected by someone else's drinking, whoever that person is and whatever stage things are at. The group brings together members from both towns to share their own experience of coping, using Al-Anon's literature and the twelve steps as a guide rather than a fixed agenda. It is an open meeting, so anyone affected by another person's drinking is welcome, together with anyone wanting to learn more or support someone else. There is no need to have attended before, and newcomers can listen for as long as they need before speaking.

Common questions

Does the person whose drinking concerns me need to attend too?

No, not at all. The meeting is for you — plenty of people come by themselves and the person they're worried about never attends.

What's the cost, and how do I join from home?

It's free to attend and there's nothing to book. Joining details are on Al-Anon Family Groups' own meeting page.

Do I need my camera on for this meeting?

There's no requirement either way. Many newcomers prefer to listen for a while with their camera off before joining in.
