The Brighton Area Wednesday Group meets every Wednesday at 6.15pm at The Recovery Kennedy Street Hub on St Peter's Place. You'll find it at the entrance to the Level, opposite St Peter's Church, which makes it easy to locate in this central part of the city. Meetings follow a literature-based format that varies week to week, giving members a chance to read, reflect and share. This is a friendly, welcoming Overeaters Anonymous group open to compulsive overeaters, addictive overeaters, over-exercisers and restricters alike. Whether you're returning after a break or coming for the very first time, you'll be met without judgement. OA is a fellowship of people supporting one another around food and eating, and there's no requirement beyond a desire to stop eating compulsively.
Can I come to this meeting as a newcomer or visitor?
Yes. This is an open Overeaters Anonymous meeting, so anyone is welcome, including family, friends and professionals wanting to learn more. It's aimed at compulsive overeaters, addictive overeaters, over-exercisers and restricters, and newcomers are always welcome to simply sit in and listen.
Do I need to book or pay to attend?
No. There's no booking and no cost to attend. OA meetings are free and self-supporting through members' own contributions, so you can just turn up on the Wednesday. A small voluntary contribution is welcome but never expected.
