About this meeting
Becoming Your Own Loving Parent meets every Thursday at 6.30pm at the Kennedy Recovery Hub on Ditchling Road, Brighton. Adult Children of Alcoholics exists for adults shaped by growing up with a parent's drinking or with other family dysfunction, with recovery understood as healing from that early experience rather than as giving up a habit. Because the meeting is open, friends, partners and professionals are just as welcome as those who identify with growing up in that kind of home. The name draws on the ACA idea of reparenting - learning to offer oneself the care that may have been missing in childhood. Attendance is free and there is no need to book a place beforehand - anyone interested can simply come along on the night.
