About this meeting
Bracknell's Al-Anon Family Groups meeting runs online every Tuesday at 8pm, UK and Ireland time, for about an hour and a half. Al-Anon exists for people affected by someone else's drinking, whoever that person is and whatever stage things are at. An evening slot suits members fitting the meeting around work and family life, with the group sharing what has helped them cope using Al-Anon's literature and the twelve steps. It is an open meeting, so it welcomes anyone touched by another person's drinking, plus anyone wanting to learn more about the fellowship or support somebody who is affected. There is no requirement to have attended before, and newcomers can simply listen until they feel ready to join in.
Common questions
Does the person whose drinking is a worry need to attend too?
No, not at all. The meeting is for you — plenty of people come by themselves and the person they're worried about never attends.
Is there a cost, and where do I find the joining details?
There's no cost and no need to book in advance. You'll find the joining details on Al-Anon Family Groups' own meeting page.
Is a camera required to take part?
No. You're welcome to keep your camera off, especially the first few times — plenty of people listen in before they feel ready to be seen.

Walking into a room for the first time is the hardest step. Foundations, our plain-language introduction to recovery, was written for exactly this moment — what to expect, what the Steps mean, and how to begin.
