About this meeting

Friday night brings the open edition of the Pokesdown Multi-Mtg, held at St James Church on Christchurch Road in the Pokesdown district of Bournemouth from 7.45pm, lasting an hour and a quarter. Because it is an open Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, anyone at all can attend: people who want to stop drinking, partners and parents, friends, and professionals who work with people in recovery. That makes Friday the natural choice within this group if you would feel steadier walking in with someone beside you. The same group also meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings, though those sessions are closed. The church is wheelchair accessible. Dogs and vaping are not permitted at the venue, attendance is free, and no booking is involved.

Common questions

Can I bring someone with me for support?

Yes. The Friday meeting is open, so family, friends and professionals are welcome alongside anyone with a desire to stop drinking.

When else does this group meet?

The group also meets at St James Church on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.45pm, but those are closed meetings for people who want to stop drinking.

Is there parking or step-free access?

The venue is confirmed as wheelchair accessible. Parking arrangements are not listed, so allow a little extra time. Dogs and vaping are not permitted.
