About this meeting

Warlingham Big Book meets early on Sunday evenings, at 6pm, in St Christopher's Church Hall on Chelsham Road. The meeting is built around study of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, working through the text that describes how the Twelve Step programme is meant to work, so it offers real substance for anyone serious about getting well. It runs for an hour and a half and is a closed meeting, meaning it is kept for people who have, or think they may have, a desire to stop drinking. The hall is wheelchair accessible. There is no charge, no register and no need to book; you can arrive on the night, listen, and take from it what you need.

Common questions

What happens at a Big Book meeting?

Members read a passage from Alcoholics Anonymous, the Big Book, and then share on it. It is a good way to learn how the AA programme works, and newcomers can simply listen.

Am I allowed to attend?

If you have, or think you may have, a desire to stop drinking, yes. It is a closed meeting, so family and friends should choose an open AA meeting instead.

Is the hall accessible, and is there a cost?

St Christopher's Church Hall is wheelchair accessible, and the meeting is free with no booking; just arrive before 6pm on Sunday.
