Urmston's Friday meeting gathers at Greenfield Church on Primrose Avenue at 8.15pm, running for an hour and a half into the late evening. It is a closed Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, which means it is held for people who have a desire to stop drinking, or who are starting to question their drinking, rather than for the general public; if that describes you, no invitation is needed and you can simply walk in. Friday night is a hard night for many people trying to stay sober, and a fixed commitment at exactly that time is part of the point.
