Tollesbury

The village of Tollesbury, out on the Blackwater estuary in the Maldon district, has its own Tuesday evening Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Tollesbury Congregation Church on East Street. It starts at 7.30pm and lasts one hour. The meeting is open, so anyone may attend: people who have a desire to stop drinking, relatives and friends who want to understand, and professionals. In a small village, having recovery on the doorstep matters; it spares people a drive to Maldon or Colchester and keeps support close to home.
