Ask it Basket format
The Weekend Group meets every Friday evening at 7.30pm in the Quaker Meeting House on Upper Goat Lane, tucked in the heart of Norwich near the Lanes shopping area. Running for an hour and a half, this Narcotics Anonymous meeting follows a topic format with an Ask it Basket, so members can drop questions in anonymously and have them read out and discussed by the group. It's a relaxed, familiar way to raise something that's on your mind without having to speak up first. As an open meeting, it welcomes anyone with a desire to stop using drugs, along with family, friends and interested professionals. Ending the working week among others who understand can make the weekend feel a lot steadier.
Can I come to this meeting if I'm new to NA?
Yes. This is an open Narcotics Anonymous meeting, so anyone is welcome, including newcomers, family, friends and professionals. If you have a desire to stop using drugs, you belong here. The Ask it Basket format also lets you raise a question anonymously if you'd rather not speak out loud.
Do I need to book or pay anything?
No booking is needed and there is no cost to attend. NA is self-supporting through members' own contributions, so a small voluntary donation is passed around if you can manage it, but you're never expected to give anything. Just turn up on Friday for 7.30pm.
What is the Ask it Basket format?
Members write questions or topics on slips of paper and place them in a basket. These are then read out and shared on during the meeting. It's a helpful way to bring up something you're struggling with without having to put your hand up first.
