Meeting entrance at side of building buzzer access,
The Southport Thursday group meets at 8pm at the Southport Temperance Institute, 65 London Street, a short walk from the town centre. Use the entrance at the side of the building — there is buzzer access to let you in. It is an open Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, so anyone is welcome: people with a desire to stop drinking, their families and friends, and anyone wondering about their own drinking. The meeting runs for an hour and a half. There is a pleasing symmetry in an AA group meeting at a Temperance Institute — the building has been on the side of people rethinking drink for over a century.
How do I get in?
The meeting entrance is at the side of the building on London Street, with buzzer access — press the buzzer and someone will let you in.
Can anyone attend?
Yes. This is an open meeting, so you are welcome whether you want to stop drinking yourself or are supporting someone who does.
Does it cost anything?
No. AA meetings are free, with no booking or membership. A voluntary collection is passed round, but newcomers are told to keep their money.
