On Wednesday lunchtimes, Sligo Town Back To Basics holds a Steps meeting at 1pm, also on the second floor of the Avalon Centre on Chapel Street, alongside the group's Monday and Friday sessions. Members work through the Twelve Steps together during this format. It remains a members-only Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, for people with a desire to stop drinking, though a newcomer needs no prior contact to attend. There is no charge and no booking system in place. Wheelchair accessibility to the second-floor room has not been confirmed, so anyone with mobility needs should contact the group in advance. Chapel Street sits close to the centre of Sligo town.
How does the Wednesday session differ from the group's other meetings
Wednesday follows a Steps format, working through the Twelve Steps together, unlike the group's Monday and Friday sessions which have no set format.
Do I need to book to attend
No, there is no booking system and no charge, so anyone can simply arrive at 1pm.
Is the second-floor room accessible for wheelchair users
This has not been confirmed, so it would be sensible to check with the group beforehand if this matters to you.
