Shrewsbury also has a Monday Al-Anon Family Groups meeting, held at Shrewsbury United Reformed Church on Coleham Head, starting at 7.30pm and running for about an hour and a half. Al-Anon supports anyone whose life has been affected by someone else's drinking, whether as a partner, parent, adult child, sibling or friend, and the meeting focuses on the person attending rather than on the one who drinks. As an open meeting, newcomers, visitors and professionals are welcome alongside regular members, and there is no obligation to speak. Coleham Head sits south of the town centre across the river, giving Shrewsbury residents a second weekly option alongside the Saturday morning group at St Winefride's Convent.
