Seaman’s Rest

Seaman's Rest meets on Saturday nights at 7.30pm at the Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest, 121-131 East India Dock Road in Poplar, and runs for an hour and a half. When you arrive, use the Annabel Close door rather than the hostel entrance. It is an open Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, so people with a desire to stop drinking are joined by family members, friends and professionals, all of whom are welcome. The venue is wheelchair accessible. A Saturday evening meeting can be a real anchor at the point in the week when drinking pressure is often strongest. It is free, and there is no booking; you can simply walk in.
