About this meeting

Sawbridgeworth's Saturday AA meeting starts at 5pm in Great St Mary's Parish Hall and lasts an hour. Access is through Great St Mary's car park, where parking is available, and a greeter is on hand from 4.30pm to let people into the car park — worth knowing if it is your first visit. This is a closed meeting, a term that simply means it is for people who have a desire to stop drinking, rather than for observers or supporters; the door itself is very much open. There is no charge and no need to book, and arriving from 4.30pm onwards gives you time to park and find the hall without hurry.

Common questions

What is a closed AA meeting?

A meeting reserved for people who have a desire to stop drinking. The term describes who it is for, not a shut door — newcomers who want to stop are exactly who the meeting exists for.

Is there parking, and how do I get in?

Yes. Access is through Great St Mary's car park, where parking is available, and a greeter is present from 4.30pm to let you into the car park.

Does it cost anything or need booking?

No. Like every AA meeting it is free, with no booking or registration of any kind.
