Royston's midweek meeting gathers on Wednesdays at 7.30pm at Royston Methodist Church on Queens Road, close to the Hertfordshire town's centre, and lasts an hour. It is a closed meeting, which is AA's way of saying it is for people who have a desire to stop drinking, or who think they might; the group itself makes a point of saying newcomers are very welcome, so do not let the terminology put you off. A chit system operates, meaning the group can sign an attendance slip as evidence for court, probation or a treatment programme. There is no charge, no membership and no booking system; you simply arrive a few minutes before 7.30pm and someone will point you to a seat.

Can I get attendance confirmed for court or probation?
