Getting there
About this meeting
The Kairos Centre at Maryfield Convent on Mount Angelus Road, off Danebury Avenue in Roehampton, south-west London, hosts an Al-Anon Family Groups meeting every Tuesday at 10.30am. Al-Anon is not for people who drink themselves; it is for those around them, partners, parents, adult children and friends, who are affected by someone else's drinking. It is an open meeting, so anyone in that situation can attend without an introduction, and the person whose drinking has affected you does not need to be there, or to have agreed to anything. The meeting runs for an hour and a half and is free to attend, with no booking required, weekly on Tuesday mornings.
Common questions
Who is this meeting for?
Al-Anon Family Groups is for people whose own lives have been affected by someone else's drinking, partners, parents, adult children, brothers, sisters and friends, rather than for the person who drinks.
Do I need to bring the person whose drinking has affected me?
No. The meeting is for you, in your own right. Many people attend on their own and the relative or friend who drinks never needs to come along, or even know you are going.
Does it cost anything, and do I need to book?
It is free to attend and there is no need to book or register. The meeting is held weekly on Tuesdays at 10.30am and lasts an hour and a half; just arrive for the start.
