The Format of the Meeting is an Experience, Strength & Hope Share Every Week.
Preston JFT Group meets every Thursday evening at 7.30pm at St Matthew's Mission on Acregate Lane, in the Fishwick area east of Preston city centre. The format is an experience, strength and hope share every week — members telling their own stories of addiction and recovery — which makes it an easy meeting to sit and listen in, whether it is your first NA meeting or your five hundredth. It is an open meeting, so family, friends, students and professionals are welcome to attend alongside people in recovery. The meeting runs for a generous hour and three quarters, one of the longer NA meetings in the Preston area.
What does 'experience, strength and hope' mean?
It is NA's phrase for members sharing their own story — what it was like, what happened, and what life is like now. Every week at this meeting someone shares theirs, followed by responses from the floor.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. This is an open meeting, so anyone is welcome — including supportive family or friends, or professionals who want to understand how NA works.
How long does it last and what does it cost?
About an hour and 45 minutes. It is free, with no booking needed — a voluntary collection is passed around but nobody is expected to give.
