Portlaoise First Things First meets every Wednesday at 8.30pm in the Hollies Room on the Clonminam Industrial Estate, on the edge of Portlaoise. It is a members-only Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, kept for anyone with a desire to stop drinking, so someone attending for the first time is just as welcome as a long-standing member. There is no charge and no need to book ahead. The group meets in the same room each week, which gives regulars a settled base to work through the programme together. Wheelchair access at the venue has not been confirmed, so anyone with mobility needs may want to get in touch beforehand. Portlaoise is easily reached from the M7.
Can I attend if I have never been to AA before
Yes. This is a members-only meeting for anyone with a desire to stop drinking, and a first visit is welcome without any need to have attended elsewhere first.
Is there a fee or do I need to book a place
No. Like every AA meeting it is free and open on a drop-in basis, so you can simply arrive at the Hollies Room for 8.30pm.
Is the Hollies Room wheelchair accessible
Access has not been confirmed for this venue, so it is worth contacting the group ahead of time if you use a wheelchair.
