No dogs allowed (except guide dogs)
Plumstead Beginners Steps 123 is designed with newcomers in mind, concentrating on the first three of AA's Twelve Steps, the ones everyone starts with. It meets on Tuesdays at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Methodist Church, 265 Burrage Road in Plumstead, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and runs for an hour and a quarter. This is a closed meeting, meaning it is for people who have, or suspect they have, a desire to stop drinking, rather than for observers; if that is you, you belong here, however new you are. The church is wheelchair accessible. Dogs are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs. Attendance is free and nobody needs to book; simply arrive before the start.
I have never been to AA before. Is this meeting suitable?
Very much so. It is a beginners' meeting focused on Steps 1, 2 and 3, so it is aimed squarely at people who are new to recovery.
What does 'closed meeting' mean?
It means the meeting is for people with a desire to stop drinking, or who think they may have one, rather than for the general public. It is still free and you can just turn up.
Is the venue accessible, and can I bring my dog?
Holy Trinity Methodist Church is wheelchair accessible. Dogs are not permitted, except guide dogs.
