Newtowncunningham's Monday Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is held at 8.30pm in the Presbyterian Church Hall on Monfad Road, Co. Donegal. It is a closed meeting, so it is intended for people who have a desire to stop drinking rather than family members or professionals wanting to sit in. The village hall setting gives the meeting a quieter, more local feel than some of the town venues in Letterkenny or Lifford nearby, which can suit people who prefer a smaller group. There is no charge for attending and no need to book a place beforehand. The same group also runs a second meeting later in the week, so anyone unable to make Monday has another option close by. Newcomers are welcome to arrive a little before 8.30pm to introduce themselves ahead of the meeting starting.
