Chit system available.
The Newburn Mixed Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous takes place on Wednesdays at 6.15pm at Newburn Parish Hall, 28 Station Road, in the Newburn area of west Newcastle upon Tyne. It lasts an hour and a quarter and is a closed meeting, which is AA's way of saying attendance is kept to people who have, or think they may have, a desire to stop drinking; it does not mean the doors are locked to newcomers, who are actively welcome. The hall is wheelchair accessible. A chit system operates, so if you need attendance confirmed in writing for court, probation or a treatment service, a member can sign a slip. As with all AA meetings, it is free and needs no booking.
Who can come to this meeting?
Anyone with a desire to stop drinking, women and men alike. As a closed meeting it is not open to observers, but newcomers with a drinking concern are very welcome.
Can I get a chit signed?
Yes. The group operates a chit system for court, probation and treatment attendance slips.
Is the hall accessible and is there any cost?
Newburn Parish Hall has wheelchair access, and the meeting is completely free with no booking or referral required.
