An Al-Anon Family Groups meeting is held every Sunday at 6.30pm in Navan, Co. Meath, at St Mary's Community Centre, Trimgate Street. Al-Anon Family Groups brings together people affected by another person's drinking, whatever their relationship to that person, to share how they cope and to support one another. Being an open meeting, it welcomes anyone affected by someone else's drinking, including people coming along for the first time. It lasts around an hour and ten minutes. There is no charge and no booking system, so you are free to walk in on the day.

It is for family members and friends affected by another person's drinking, rather than for the drinker. That covers partners, parents, grown-up children and close friends. Because this is an open meeting, anyone with a connection to the situation can come along, including on a first visit.

Do I have to bring the person whose drinking has affected me?

No. You are welcome whether or not the person whose drinking concerns you ever attends themselves. Plenty of members come by themselves, and the meeting works the same way either way.

How do I join, and is there a fee?

There is no charge and no need to book. Just come along on Sunday for the 6.30pm start; you can simply take a seat when you arrive. The meeting lasts around an hour and ten minutes.
