Chit system available.
The Thursday edition of A New Beginning is an open meeting, running from 7pm for an hour and a half at The Salvation Army, 2 Southfield Road, in the centre of Middlesbrough. Because it is open, anyone may attend: people who want to stop drinking, partners and family members, friends, and professionals who want to see how Alcoholics Anonymous works from the inside. A chit system operates, so signed proof of attendance is available for anyone who needs it for court, probation or a treatment programme. The venue has wheelchair access, and the town-centre location is easy to reach. Like every AA meeting it is completely free, and there is no need to book or tell anyone you are coming.
Can I bring my partner or a friend along?
Yes. This is an open AA meeting, so family, friends and professionals are all welcome alongside anyone with a desire to stop drinking.
Will the meeting sign my attendance slip?
Yes. A chit system is available, so the secretary can sign evidence of attendance for court, probation or treatment purposes.
Do I need to pay or book a place?
No. The meeting is free with no booking; just come to The Salvation Army, 2 Southfield Road, for 7pm on Thursday.
