London – Hackney

Known as the Hackney meeting, this Gamblers Anonymous group actually meets in Walthamstow, in Waltham Forest, at Emmanuel Parish Church Hall on Hitcham Road, every Monday at 8.15pm, for two hours. It is an open meeting, so anyone can attend, including people with a desire to stop gambling and those close to them, such as partners, friends or family. The meeting follows GA's twelve-step programme, with members sharing their own experience of gambling and recovery. There is no cost to attend and no need to book beforehand; just arrive a little before quarter past eight. A further GA meeting, focused on the steps, runs at the same hall on Thursdays. The venue does not have wheelchair access, according to the group's listing.
