The Format of the Meeting is a 4-Week Rotation: Week 1 = Just for Today Week 2 = Main Chair Week 3 = Spiritual Principle a Day Week 4 = Speaker
The Just For Today group meets every Wednesday evening in Southampton, gathering at 7pm in the Elizabeth Kelly Community Hall at Edmund Kell Unitarian Church on Bellevue Road. Sessions run for an hour and a quarter and follow a four-week rotation, so the format shifts as the month goes on: week one uses the Just for Today daily readings, week two is a main chair share, week three works through a Spiritual Principle a Day, and week four features a speaker. This is an open Narcotics Anonymous meeting, which means anyone is welcome, and children are welcome too. Whatever week you happen to walk in on, you will find people sharing honestly about staying clean, one day at a time.
Can I come to this meeting if I'm not sure whether I have a problem?
Yes. This is an open NA meeting, so anyone can attend, including newcomers who are still working things out, plus family, friends and professionals. The only requirement for NA membership is a desire to stop using drugs, and no one will ask you to speak or explain yourself.
Do I need to book or pay anything?
No. There is no booking and no charge to attend. Narcotics Anonymous is self-supporting through members' own contributions, so a basket is passed for anyone who wishes to give, but you never have to. Just turn up before 7pm on the Wednesday.
Is the venue accessible and can I bring my children?
The venue is wheelchair accessible. Children are welcome at this meeting, which can help if childcare is a barrier to getting there. The meeting is held in the Elizabeth Kelly Community Hall within Edmund Kell Unitarian Church on Bellevue Road.
