Hebden Bridge ACAD Meeting

The Hebden Bridge ACAD Meeting is held every Friday at 6.30pm in the basement of Salem Community Resource Centre on Salem Street. ACA is a Twelve Step, Twelve Tradition fellowship for people whose childhood involved a parent's drinking or other family dysfunction, built around healing from that experience rather than around stopping any behaviour of one's own. Since it is an open meeting, nobody is turned away - friends, partners and professionals attend alongside those who identify as adult children. ACAD stands for Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families, reflecting that the group welcomes people affected by wider family dysfunction too. There is no charge and nothing to arrange beforehand; newcomers are welcome to simply arrive and sit in.
