Hastings Women’s Gratitude

Every Thursday at 6pm, women gather in the High Street building of St Mary's Star of the Sea RC Church for Hastings Women's Gratitude, a closed Alcoholics Anonymous meeting for women who have a desire to stop drinking. Rather than the small back room used by some of the other Hastings meetings, this one takes place in the church's larger meeting room, giving a bit more space for the group. As a closed meeting it is restricted to AA members, so it suits women who already identify as alcoholic or who think they might. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Sharing tends to centre on gratitude, a theme many find useful for shifting focus away from what has been lost and towards what recovery has brought.
